The social programme for Nord Stream Race 2013 is taking shape. The international participants are looking forward to the finish in Saint Petersburg and are curious to see the famous city of the tsars – many of them for the first time. This is with good reason as the organisers have made sure that the stay in Saint Petersburg will be an unforgettable experience.
Mooring for the boats for example will be right in the historic city centre, either in front of the Peter-and-Paul-fortress (Petropawlowskaja Krepost) or near the admiralty that accommodates the High Command of the Russian Navy. Same as for the start in Flensburg there will be a race village set up here as well, that will serve as contact point for sailors as well as attracting the locals from Saint Petersburg.
On Saturday 21st of September a great Welcome Party has been planned for the crews in a historic setting. More details about the actual event location will be announced soon. Just so much – it will be impressive! The prize giving ceremony and final celebrations will take place on the following day. Of course there will always be enough time for sightseeing in between events so everyone can make the most out of their stay in famous Saint Petersburg.
