Welcome Nord Stream Race! The Finnish water sports community welcomed the organisers of Nord Stream Race 2014 at Helsinki Boat Show. About 30 interested guests came along to catch up on the latest news about the regatta across the Baltic Sea and especially about the stopover in the Finnish capital.
Amongst the visitors were representatives of water sports clubs, sailors and journalists. Kyle Langford, a Finnish member of team Oracle who won the 34th America’s Cup was there, too. Arne Hirsch, event director from Norddeutscher Regatta Verein, explained the programme and the highlights of Nord Stream Race 2014. Naturally the focus was on the stopover in Helsinki (30th May to 2nd June), when participating yachts will compete in in-port races.
The Nord Stream Race Sailors Reception took place at the stand of Finnish sail makers WB-Sails during Helsinki Boat Show on Friday, 7th of February 2014. The company is eponym of the yearly WB Sails Round the Buoys-regatta. As an in-port race open for the ORC yachts, this race is part of Nord Stream Race 2014.
